German Luftwaffe Gewehr-Granatpatrone 40 GGP/40 Gewehrgranäte Zur Panzerbekämpfung (Rifle Grenade For Fighting Tanks), RARE, Inert.
Why Luftwaffe? Because:
"The Gewehr-Granatpatrone 40 or GGP/40 for short was a shaped charge rifle grenade used by German forces during the Second World War. It was originally developed for Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger units to provide them with a light and portable anti-tank weapon".
"The GGP/40 was developed by WASAG in 1940 at the request of the Luftwaffe. It was not operational in time for the French Campaign, but it is thought to have been operational in 1941 and first used by Fallschirmjäger units during the Battle of Crete. However, it soon became apparent that its aerodynamics, accuracy, range and armor penetration were all poor. In 1942 a requirement for a better projectile with 50 mm to 70 mm of armor penetration was drawn up, but experience on the Eastern Front soon showed that even that level of performance would be insufficient so development was abandoned. The army by that time had also developed better rifle grenades".
So, it was used during a very short time, hence its scarcity. I have never seen in my 20 years of collecting a minty one from box, I have seen maybe 3 or 4 from ground and restored... This is one of those. Extremelly rare and missing at 99% of collections. The head cannot be unscrewed from the fuze and the screw is glued.
To some countries will be sent in two separated parcels.
