German Reichwehr - Legion Condor - Wehrmacht Gas Mask GM30 Early Model 1937 Upgraded to GM38 Model In 1940, With Rare Kl 5 Stamp.
Most of these early masks were later used for Luftschutz with new stamps and/or upgraded breathing system, (to GM38), as it is the case of this one. Of course Germans were not going to destroy all obsolete stuff, so they tried to reuse everything.
Now about the Kl 5 eagle, I have found maybe 4 or 5 of these stamps on masks, most of them refurbished masks, Kl stands for Konzentrationslager, (In my opinion), I have asked some people, but nobody could tell me nothing. So, if you know what Kl means, please let me know. Anyways, meaning one thing or another, they are very rare.
The mask is totally supple and complete with all straps.
