"The blasting cap protector is used to make moisture proof the union between a non-electric cap and the time fuse used in a charge to be left in place several days before firing. It will not waterproof a connection placed under water. As issued, 25 cap protectors are rolled on a small stick 6 1/2 inches long.
At this point, only the Miller Manufacturing Co. out of El Paso, Texas is a known producer of these blasting cap protectors.
Oddly enough, these sticks are only mentioned in this demolition set: the Demolition set No. 5, Individual, better known as the late war demo bag."
The washers are still supple, some are better some are worse, but more or less they are all ok. What you see is what you will receive. It is a very hard to find spare part for add to your USA Engineer collection/display.
