German Wehrmacht Zeltbahn 31 Zeltstock 01 Wood With Steel Fittings Tent Pole.
As I guess all you already know, 4 Zeltbahn 31 buttoned together made up a small pyramidal tent which served as a shelter for 4 soldiers. Next to 4 Zeltbahn, 4 Poles and 8 Pegs/Stakes where needed. You could set up bigger tents adding more and more Zeltbahns. So, every soldier was issued with:
–1 Zeltleine 92, (Tent Rope), a 2 meter long, 4 mm +/- thick cord with one loop on each end or no loops, as different variations existed, as rope colours, or uncoloured rope.
–1 Zeltstock 01, (Tent Pole), a 38 cm long pole with steel fittings, 4 were needed for the center of the tent.
–2 Zeltpflöcke 29, (Tent Peg/Stake), Early War wood with steel fittings or full aluminium or full bakelite, or full steel, (Late War), all these last three models came with a small cord loop at the end intented for help to pull them out form the ground.
There existed special pouches/bags for these parts, the Zeltzubehörtasche, (Tent accessory pouch), but most of the times they were carried inside the rolled Zeltbahn.
Here we have a near mint tent pole, 4 of them were needed for hold the tent up. Unmarked, as the 90% of these poles.
You will receive the one you see in the photos. Last photo is from a manual and you see how it was used.
